Your Cabin & Your Region
Join us in Duluth!

The national cabin community stretches from Washington state to Florida,
Michigan to Arizona, and many states in between. There are cabins in 24
states on 114 National Forests. NFH has members in all of these places and
our Board of Directors is from nearly every Forest Service region across the
country.

Local connection and local issues ultimately drive our work and help us see
the shared challenges for all cabin owners. Your experience is what defines
our work ahead. Local, regional and national challenges are guiding our
efforts with the Cabin Program Restoration Act (CPRA) - the bill we are
bringing through Congress. 

Currently, NFH has a director who lives in Minnesota and has a cabin in
Michigan: you can meet David Jossi at our upcoming NFH Fall Forum in Duluth.
Only a few years ago, we had a director with his cabin and home in Minnesota
and he still volunteers on NFH committees; you can also meet Dave Hansen at
the September forum.

Please join us and find out more about what NFH is doing to preserve the
cabin program and protect permit holder rights. Learn about CPRA, share
local challenges and stories, meet other cabin owners in your area and get

Cabin Visits!
In Your Neck of the Woods

NFH Field Director Desiree La Maggiore and former NFH Director Dave Hansen
will be visiting cabins in a selection of tracts in Minnesota over the
course of a week prior to the NFH Fall Forum. Planning to be at your cabin?
Consider meeting with these friendly NFH outreach leaders depending on the
route and time. We learn so much and absolutely love visiting with cabin
owners at their cabins.

The last time we were in Minnesota was 2016 and we hold our fall event in a
different region every year. So - this may be your last chance for quite
some time to visit with us in person, meet other cabin owners, prepare for
what's ahead for the program and engage in discussion with Forest Service
leaders.

For the program in Duluth this year, Superior National Forest Supervisor
Thomas Hall will be speaking and participating in our panel session, as
well.
