They agreed! And with most permits across the country set to<br>expire in 2028, the Forest Service is focused on communication of and training for this policy<br>revision.</span><o:p></o:p></p></div><div><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:13.5pt"><br>So, what does this mean for permit holders with recently issued 2044 permits? The policy<br>change is not retroactive, and the Eldorado NF is not required to alter the recently issued 2044.<br>However, after the permit is updated and the Forest Service has completed communications<br>and training, NFH will collaborate with the Forest Service to draft a 10-year extension for<br>Eldorado permits. Until then, NFH will urge the Eldorado to issue any new permits (e.g., for<br>cabin sales, transfers into a trust, or changes among co-owners) with the extended term, which<br>would expire in 2054.</span><o:p></o:p></p></div><div><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:13.5pt"><br>NFH is a volunteer-driven association working on behalf of permit holders all around the<br>country. Influencing policy change and legislative action, such as the Cabin Program Restoration<br>Act (which will make the 30-year permit term not just policy but law) to benefit permit holders,<br>is funded by NFH membership. </span> <span style="font-size:13.5pt">If you are an NFH member, thank you!
