Friendly Visit & Forum -
A Perfect Fall Trip to Duluth!

This past weekend, cabin owners from around Minnesota and the region joined
NFH leaders in Duluth for an update on the cabin program and challenges
ahead. Superior National Forest Supervisor Tom Hall spoke to the group, and
there were three additional Forest Service staff from the Superior and
Chippewa National Forests who participated in our question and answer panel.

Meredith Randall, NFH President and a panel of NFH Directors also presented
our current advocacy in Washington, DC for the Cabin Program Restoration Act
(CPRA). 

Leading up to this regional event, our NFH Field Director, Desiree La
Maggiore with former NFH Director Dave Hansen, visited tracts and cabins
across Michigan and Minnesota spanning 6 forests and over 30 cabin tracts.
It was helpful for the national association to learn more about what's
happening on the ground locally. Thank you for all being such kind hosts for
our NFH visit.

The cabin community loves our National Forests. In addition to holding the
regional forum and going out to visit cabins, our NFH leaders spent a half
day on Sunday volunteering their labor on the Superior Trail. We want to
give back to the forests and lands that have given us and our families so
much.

Again, thank you to Duluth and the cabin community in the region for a warm
welcome! Please tell your cabin neighbors about what we do and encourage
them to join NFH, to protect and preserve the cabin program for future
generations.
